I have been a truck nut all my life. I studied lettering on all trucks and was amazed by a sign painter I saw working on a truck door when I was about 10 years old. My dad drove a truck for Golden California Pack for a short time. I was about 15 and was so impressed with the pinstriping and lettering on the Golden Trucks. I was hooked. I started Golden Graphics in 1986 as a hobby. I ordered a sign painting kit from Eastwood and found a used airbrush in a neighbor's trashcan. In 1987 a friend of mine bought a new semi so he called me and wanted me to letter it. I lettered it, pinstriped it, and put a cartoon bird on the sleeper. It looked pretty good and he liked it. I still enjoy truck lettering and pinstriping. It's like anything else, the more you do the better you get. In January 2012 I left Tri-state Commodities to start Golden Graphics full-time. My passion is now my occupation.
